We spoke to Wojtek about his featured series.

The Puck Fair is one of the oldest, and most unusual, of Ireland’s street festivals. It runs annually for three days beginning on the 10th August in Killorglin, Co. Kerry. The first day consists of a horse fair; the subject of my series. I would describe it as organised chaos yet the people involved know exactly what’s going on. Deals are done the old way - sealing them with a hand sake. It felt like a glimpse into the past as nowadays there are little to no animals sold this way in Ireland.

The fair attracts Irish travellers - a minority who have been part of Irish society for centuries. While men are busy selling, buying and riding the horses, the women dress in their best clothes and go to the town to admire the street performers, buskers, food and craft stalls, fairground amusements and many more attractions.
