Kate is an agricultural photographer currently studying Editorial & Advertising Photography at The University of Gloucestershire. After growing up on a farm, Kate's work focuses on the rural life she grew up surrounded by. Her portfolio aims to introduce those who haven't experienced rural life before to what she experiences everyday.

We asked Kate to choose a series that best represents this.

‘A Day Away From the Farm’ documents the agricultural shows that take place in Somerset and Dorset during the summer. These shows are vital days where the agricultural community come together to showcase their livestock, socialise and have a rare day off from their farms. Judging takes place throughout the day to award prizes for a number of competitions; from ‘Best in Breed’ to the best floral arrangement to the best wedding cake made of cheese. The series captures the vibrant and lively atmosphere and gives an insight to those who will not have witnessed an agricultural show before.
